The Apprenticeship Advisory Board was created in 1939, under the statutory authority of Minnesota Statutes 178.02. Its duties are to propose occupational classifications for apprenticeship programs; to propose minimum standards for apprenticeship programs and agreements; and to advise about the establishment of such policies, procedures and rules as the board deems necessary in implementing the intent of this chapter.
The commissioner appoints the eight-member council, which is composed of three representatives from employer organizations, three representatives from employee organizations and two representatives from the general public.
Regular meetings are conducted at 1:30 p.m. in the Minnesota Room at DLI.
